Well, it was good to see more faces back in class today. I hope those of you at home are resting and feeling better.
We continued to practice area and perimeter in math. Be sure you understand using the formuals to calculate area and perimeter. Area = length times width and Perimeter = length plus width plus length plus width.
We had specials today so we did not map any more progress in Social Studies.
In reading we talked about thinking about your thinking. Meta-cognition is important in understanding and retelling information. While listening to the story today students wrote down what they were thinking. This list includes making connections, asking questions, and vocabulary. When you read, there are words you come to that you do not understand. It is important to make a list of these words and then go back and look them up in a dictionary. After reading the definition you should be able to draw a picture to represent the word.
