'Twas the Monday before break and wishing we were nestled in bed,
So wear your pajamas or Santa suit instead.
The stockings you wear today should be most fun,
It’s Tuesday and the week is almost half done.
On Wednesday, don’t be the Grinch that is mean,
So today instead wear your red and green.
And Thursday, we will wear a cap on our head,
Santa, or elf hats, or even antlers instead.
Then on Friday in the halls there will be such laughter,
We will spring from our desks to see what is the matter. We couldn’t imagine just what we would see, But we’ll open the doors with excitement and glee.
The smiling faces and excitement of all,
We will not believe what we see in the hall. Because, what to our wondering eyes should appear, Ugly sweaters galore spreading holiday cheer.
As the week closes and we leave for a while,
Every person will be happy and wearing a smile. So enjoy the time with all those you hold dear, We can’t wait to see you when you come back next year.
