Valentine Catapult

Today we spent some time flinging candy.  The students worked in groups of 4 to research catapult, projectile, launch, and simple machines.  They then used their research to sketch designs that would use common supplies (spoons, cups, popsicle sticks, rubber bands, etc.) to create their drawing.  We then tested by launching valentine hearts.  After measuring the distance the projectile launched, they made changes to their catapult and tested again.  Check out the learning here.
