The Ant and the Grasshopper

We have been working on synthesis as a comprehension strategy in reading.  Today we watched the 1934 Disney version of "The Ant and the Grasshopper" and then read the Aesop tale.  The students compared print to text and then created an original comic strip or an original story inspired from these versions.  Synthesizing involves taking what we know and creating something new.  How do you use synthesis in your daily life?
