We are reading “
How to Write Your Life Story” by Ralph Fletcher and have started to our life map project in class. I rareley send homework, but this project is too important to not include families. This is a fun process to walk through with your child. Our goal is to create a life map which can be used during fourth grade to select ideas from for narrative writing. This process includs listing life events and then turning them into a life map.
The first part of this process is for students to write down important events from their life. Tonight they are bringing home a paper with the years from birth through 4th grade. Please help them to list AT LEAST four things under each year. The organizers need to be returned by Thursday, September 27th when we will turn them into life maps. We also discussed artifacts. Artifacts are optional and do not have to be sent to school.
