Science Fun

We have been learning about the scientific process in science this month. Students have watched video clips to practice asking scientific questions vs. research questions, write strong hypothesis with evidence, list materials and write procedures. Today we practiced collecting data and identifying variables. Controlled variables are the items that stay the same in the experiment. Independent variables are the variables you change (this should only be one) in the experiment. Dependent variables are what you are observing in the experiment. Today we made a "telephone". The kids got a kick out of this, so here are directions to make it at home. This is different than the activity we did in class.
