We have started discussing averages in math. We have reviewed median (the middle), mode (the most), and range (the difference) in data sets. Today we explored mean (the average). Students used adding tape to find the circumference of their heads. In their group of four they then taped their stips together and then folded them into 1/4 to see how you comine and divide evenly. We will do a workshop with taking this application to calculations next. Here are some games you can use to practice at home.
