We continued our experiments with states of matter today and asked How do states of matter change? To watch how vibration can changes states of matter we watched a clip from Big Bag Theory. The students worked in groups to create their own experiment to answer the question. This activity allowed students to work though the scientific process and create a working experiment. Tomorrow we will test these experiments. Students also saw how head can change a solid with the shrinky dink machine and crayone machine. Science is so cool!
Today (Monday) we explored freezing point by making homemade ice cream...yum! The students observed the change from liquid to solid. You can do this at home with this simple recipe.
