Tasty Rocks

Today we learned about the 3 types of today: sedimentary, metamorphic, and igneous. Here is a link to an online site we used. Thank you to everyone who sent supplies. We made layered peanut butter, jelly, and chocolate chip sandwiches to show sedimentary rocks. Students created layers and applied pressure. We used our body heat and pressure to mix starbursts together to show metemorphic rocks. Finally we melted chocolate and dipped pretzel sticks and we looked at the holes in Rice Krispy treats for igneous. It was a yummy science class.
