Today we reviewed communicative property by viewing the first few minutes of this video. The important thing for fourth grade students is to understand numbers can be added in any order and this will not change the sum (total amount). Students should be able to draw pictures (coconuts or no) to match these number sentences. We did not discuss negative numbers.
