Shawnee County Historical Society History Day Camp
Shawnee County Historical Society will conduct a History Day Camp during the four weeks in June at the Hale Ritchie House, 1118 SE Madison. Each week will have a different theme.
June 6 is "Home on the Range" experiencing Pioneer life; June 13 is "Trail Blazers" exploring Western trails; June 20 is "Forging Freedom" The Underground Railroad and Civil Rights; and June 27 is "The Great Outdoors" How Weather Affected our Past.
The Camps are intended for children age 8 - 11, or 3rd, 4th & 5th graders. The fee is $50 per week and a child can enroll and attend one week or multiple weeks. The Camp will run Monday - Friday, from 8:30am to 12:00pm.
Melinda Abitz serves as Camp Director, assisted by Washburn History and Education students.
