On November 4th, West Elementary will be hosting a Community Celebration, Open House, and Reception to celebrate West Elementary School’s 2010 Intel School of Distinction Award in Elementary Mathematics! We believe this is truly a community award, and want to involve our students and community in the event as much as possible.
The theme for our celebration is “Our Future is Bright.” We would like the students to share in our celebration by dressing up or wearing a sign depicting their career choice for their “bright” future. This can be a simple hat, sign, or an elaborate costume. We will be providing poster board to those students who would like to make a sign.
On the evening of our Intel Community Celebration, each class will parade across the stage and thank a specific sponsor for their support of our school. In order to organize our students before entering the stage, we would like the students to meet in their classrooms at 6:15 p.m. The event will begin in the gym at 6:30pm. Following the celebration, we will have an Open House with refreshments provided in stations throughout the building to allow our guests to see classrooms and visit with teachers and other staff.
