Multiplication Break Apart Method

We have been learning about multiplication in math groups this month.  Students should have mastered their facts (be sure to keep practicing).  We will also work on understanding the process of multiplying larger numbers with an understanding of place value.  We have talked about the "break-apart" method.  Students break larger numbers into smaller number to make the multiplication manageable.  Here is a video explanation.  Our test will be next Wednesday, Oct. 15th.
