What an amazing first day! We organized our supplies and talked about community. We have a great community here at West Elementary. We spent time reviewing our expectations and the responsibilities in a classroom community. We are starting the year with a Superhero theme. Where is the learning, you ask. It is in the science of mixtures and solutions and the creativity of writing. We will spend the next week talking about heroes and your student will develop an alter identity. These Superhero identities will develop from your child's personal spark. What makes them excited and keeps them engaged? What do they do for fun or just because they love to do it?
